First things first: What is a Doula?
A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to individuals and families during pregnancy, childbirth, and the early postpartum period. Unlike a midwife, a doula does not provide medical care but focuses on supporting the birthing person and their family in a non-medical capacity.
As your Doula I dedicate to providing you personalized care and creating a supportive environment tailored to your unique needs and preferences. I focus on nurturing and empowering you throughout your birth journey, ensuring you feel informed and supported every step of the way.
What can my Doula do for me?
During Pregnancy:
Emotional Support: Offering encouragement and a listening ear.
Education: Providing information on pregnancy, childbirth, and infant care.
Labor and Birth:
Physical Support: Assisting with comfort measures such as breathing techniques, massage, and positioning.
Advocacy: Helping to communicate the birthing person’s preferences and wishes with the medical team.
Continuous Presence: Staying with the birthing person throughout labor to offer consistent support.
Postpartum:
Recovery Support: Helping with physical and emotional recovery after birth.
Breastfeeding Assistance: Offering guidance and support for breastfeeding.
Household Assistance: Sometimes providing light help around the home and support in adjusting to new parenthood.
